More Thinking Doesn’t Mean A better Answer.

Have you ever had something on your plate that really wasn't that complicated... but somehow your mind turned it into a whole production?

You think about it.
Then think about it some more.
You make a plan.
Then another plan.
Then you start questioning whether either plan is right.

And suddenly something simple feels heavy.

That's what I want to talk about today.

What are you making harder than it needs to be?

Sometimes making something easier has nothing to do with doing less.

It might mean asking for help instead of trying to figure everything out alone.

Making the phone call instead of thinking about making the phone call for three days.

Sending the text without rewriting it ten times.

Choosing the first reasonable option instead of searching for the perfect one.

Or simply deciding that good enough really can be good enough.

There is a difference between thoughtful reflection and getting stuck in repetitive thinking. Rumination tends to keep us circling the same material rather than producing new solutions…and maybe that is the question:

Am I still figuring this out... or am I just going around the same circle?

Sometimes making something easier has nothing to do with lowering the bar. It might mean asking for help instead of trying to do everything yourself.

Sometimes making something easier has nothing to do with caring less.

It might mean asking for help instead of trying to do everything yourself.

Sending the text instead of rewriting it ten times.

Making the decision instead of continuing to search for the perfect answer.

Saying no without creating a whole explanation around it.

Or simply deciding that good enough really can be good enough.

We can spend so much energy trying to make the “right” choice that we forget there may be more than one good way forward.

Simple does not mean careless.
Sometimes simple means clear.

This week, pick one thing you have been overthinking.

Not five things.
Just one.

Ask yourself:

What do I actually know?
What am I assuming?
What decision have I probably already made?
And what is the simplest next step I can take?

There is a point where thinking helps us solve something, and a point where it just keeps us circling the same thing. Repetitive thinking can feel productive, but sometimes it simply keeps us mentally stuck in the same loop.

That's usually the moment to stop asking for more answers and start looking for the simplest next step.

You do not need to figure out the whole thing today.
You may only need to make the next part easier.

This week, notice where you may be adding more than the moment actually needs.

Another opinion.
Another plan.
Another explanation.
Another reason to wait.

Then ask yourself:

What would happen if I trusted the simpler way?

Maybe the answer is already clear.
Maybe the next step is smaller than you think.
Maybe you do not need more certainty before you move.

You are allowed to make things easier on yourself. That does not mean you care less. It may simply mean you are learning to trust yourself more.
