When Life Feels Like a Lot: Pause, Breathe, Come Back to Yourself
This week got real, fast.
Two nights ago, we were evacuated from our home because of the fire here in Reno. At the same time, I was finishing the last details for my Truckee retreat, which begins today.
Two big things. Same week. Same 24 hours.
And in the middle of all of it, I found myself using the exact tools I teach.
The tools I teach are the tools I use.
That's not a tagline. It's the truth I leaned on last night, packing a bag in the dark, not knowing what I'd come home to.
I recently started my YouTube channel to share short meditations, breathwork, and nervous system resets — for the moments when your mind is racing, you're overthinking, or life simply feels like too much.
This week, I needed them too. A few minutes. A little breath. A little space. Sometimes that's enough to help you come back to yourself.
Getting Clear About What Can Wait
Here's what I keep coming back to: sometimes taking care of what matters means getting really clear about what can wait.
Not everything is urgent.
Not everything needs to be solved today.
And not everything deserves the same amount of your energy.
When life feels full — or when it turns upside down overnight — choosing what matters most is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself.
So if this week has felt like a lot for you too: pause. Breathe. Come back to yourself. That's always enough of a place to start.
Loving Namaste,
Erin
